Catching Up with Jackson: Staff Spotlight Series

1) Give us the basics!

I'm Jackson Clemmer, and I've worked at Ascend since November 2018, with a break in the fall of 2019. I work behind the front desk as an MOD, and occasionally fill in with youth and adult coaching. I live in Lawrenceville with my wife, Martha, and she's a real great lady.

2) So what do you do when you're not at ASCEND?I love writing and making music, especially the sad kind. I just finally finished an excruciatingly long process of recording my first EP, and now I'm trying to learn more about electronic music and what goes into it. I'm also an armchair theologian/philosopher and love reading and writing about the "big questions," if you will. (I'm also a pretentious a**hole for writing that.)

3) Where have you been and where do you want to go?Growing up in Orlando, we made trips up to boulder in Little Rock City in Chattanooga, TN once or twice a year. I can't pick a particular trip, but I just adore the climbing there. The boulderfield is so dense, and the routes are so naturally flowing it feels like someone set them. My dream climbing trip is to the Rocklands in South Africa. They're so vast and beautiful, the climbing is incredible, and South African accents are super cool. Outside of climbing, I really want to visit Rome and Athens and look at old crumbly buildings.4) Let's get personal, what are you grateful for, right now?I'm so grateful that I'm cooped up with my wife and that we invested in board games.

*Jackson's Tip for luscious locks: Pick your split ends. (For real, his hair is swoon-worthy.)

That hair though.
